The first day of the 2022-23 academic year is Thursday 1 September 2022 and the summer term ends on Friday 21 July 2023. This framework of 195 days gives schools the flexibility to arrange their 5 statutory staff training days in addition to 190 statutory pupil days.
Governors of voluntary aided, foundation schools, free schools and academies have the responsibility for determining the dates and times of school terms and holidays but, in order to assist parents and staff, are recommended to adopt this framework.

VARIATION TO SCHOOL AND HOLIDAY DATES 2021-22
